Neck Liposuction

Neck Liposuction improves overall facial aesthetics by defining the jawline and neck, enhancing your profile in about 2 hours. This procedure is ideal for clients who feel their neck looks fuller or thicker due to extra fat. Because of its dramatic benefits and its quick recovery time, Neck Liposuction is one of the most popular Liposuction types in the U.S.

What types of Neck Liposuction are out there?

Deciding on an approach to Neck Liposuction means considering your surgeon’s opinions and personal beauty goals. While you can go for the standard Neck Lipo treatment, you might want to think about other options that give you more well-rounded results.

01.

Standardized Neck Lipo:

A standard Neck Liposuction procedure removes excess fat but doesn’t address sagging skin. Typically, regular Neck Lipo is quick and requires your surgeon to make just 1 or 2 tiny incisions behind the chin or in front of the ears to remove the fat through a small cannula. This specific method is ideal for clients under the age of 45 who still have great skin elasticity.

02.

Neck Contouring:

For the whole contouring package, many clients prefer to combine a Neck Lift (cervicoplasty) with Liposuction to address sagging skin. When a Neck Lift is involved, your surgeon will make 3 incisions — 1 near each ear and a third under the chin — to remove excess skin and tighten underlying tissues to create a more youthful, defined appearance.

03.

Combination procedures:

It’s common to combine a Rhinoplasty, Chin Augmentation, or Facelift with your Neck Liposuction. A skilled surgeon will be able to give you the balanced, attractive face shape you dream of by pairing the right procedures, allowing you to tackle several facial and neck concerns in one surgical go. By opting for a combination procedure, your transformation will be even more bold than you initially expected.

What to expect before and after your Neck Liposuction.

Before the procedure

01

Book a consultation to confirm you're eligible and discuss your goals.

02

Maintain a healthy, stable weight to sustain results post-procedure.

03

Minimize salt and alcohol intake for 3 days before your procedure.

04

Adjust medications and quit smoking to support the healing process.

05

Prep for recovery with a ride home, help the first night, and a cozy space.

The procedure day

01

You'll receive either local or general anesthesia for full comfort.

02

Small incisions are made behind the ears and chin, or lasers are used according to the chosen procedure type.

03

If standard Liposuction is chosen, a cannula is inserted to break down and suction excess fat.

04

A skin tightening device may be used to promote skin retraction or elasticity.

05

Incisions are closed, and you’re fitted with a compression garment.

After the procedure

01

Avoid strenuous activities for the first week of recovery.

02

Wear your compression garment for 7 days to minimize swelling.

03

Keep your incisions clean and dry except for the antibiotic ointment prescribed.

04

Attend a post-op appointment 24-48 hours after your procedure.

05

When cleared, start exercising again and eating healthy to sustain your weight.

Let’s talk about results.

Fat removed during neck lipo is gone for good, but weight changes and growing age can affect your long-term results. Most clients enjoy a long-lasting, slimmer look with a stable weight.

Immediate post-op

Expect swelling, bruising, and soreness in your neck for a few days.

Weeks 2-4

Resume normal activities as swelling, bruising, and discomfort should be almost completely gone.

Months 1-3

The final results of your newly contoured and defined neck will be apparent.

A Complication to Watch For

It’s not just your neck that benefits from a Neck Liposuction procedure. Without excess skin and fat along the upper neck, your jaw will have a sharper, more defined appearance that contributes to your new, youthful glow that will also show up beautifully in photos.

Neck Liposuction is a common procedure because it doesn’t take much downtime to heal, and it isn’t as invasive as Liposuction on other parts of the body. This means minimal scarring, too.

Sometimes diet and exercise aren’t enough to lose fatty deposits in the neck. Neck Liposuction targets the fat that just won’t budge and sets you up to sustain a weight that keeps your new neck shape intact for years to come.

Contour irregularities can arise after your Neck Liposuction procedure if post-op care instructions and compression guidelines are not followed correctly. Choosing the right surgeon and taking procedure prep and post-op care seriously can greatly reduce the chances of this complication from happening.

After undergoing a Neck Liposuction procedure, you could experience temporary pockets of fluid build-up (seromas), numbness, or a skin infection. All are rare, but visit your surgeon as soon as possible if any occur.

If a piece of fat breaks away from your neck during or after your procedure and then migrates to a blood vessel, a fat embolism is formed. This complication doesn’t happen often, and your surgeon will fit you with a compression garment to prevent a potential embolism from forming, but it’s still something to be aware of.

Financing is how most Bliss clients bring their dreams to life. Yet, 76% of people exploring procedures still don’t know this option is available. No wonder 85% of those who don’t book say affordability is holding them back, and two-thirds would be more likely to move forward if they knew financing was an option.

We work with trusted lenders like CareCredit to offer you a range of financing options, so you can get started on your procedure now and pay over time. Flexible, secure, and with 0% interest for up to 24 months, it’s care that fits your budget, not the other way around. With multiple providers, we’ll make sure you get the best rate possible.

Find the right Neck Liposuction surgeon.

One of the most important parts of your aesthetic journey is finding the right surgeon for your procedure. One who will honor and respect your comfort level, aesthetic goals, and give you the results you’ve been wanting. But how do you know when you’ve found “the one?”

Board certification

Surgeons who are certified in aesthetic or ophthalmic surgery have undergone rigorous training and must pass comprehensive written and oral exams. Certification ensures that the surgeon has met high standards of education, training, and ethical practice.

Experience and specialization

Look for a surgeon who specializes in Neck Liposuction and performs it regularly. Don’t be shy. Question them about their specific experience. A surgeon who frequently performs your procedure type, especially when combined with another treatment, is likely to have refined their technique, leading to better results.

Bedside manner and communication

It should be your practitioner’s top priority to make you feel comfortable, safe, and heard. They should listen to your goals and concerns and provide clear, honest answers to your questions. A good practitioner will not pressure you into additional procedures and will suggest options that are best for your health and beauty goals.

Before and after photos

Reviewing “before” and “after” photos is fun, but that doesn’t make it any less serious a step when choosing a surgeon for your Neck Liposuction. Photos of previous clients give you a sense of their work and the results you can expect. All photos of completed results should be available to you during your consultation, even if they are not posted online due to privacy concerns.

Facility accreditation

A Blepharoplasty should only be performed in an accredited facility. Accredited surgical centers meet strict safety and quality standards, providing a safe environment for your procedure. Look for accreditation from organizations such as the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) or the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
